Introducing Renewable Diesel
OnBio sources and distributes ECO+, 100% HVO Renewable Diesel, refined by Neste, the world’s largest Renewable Diesel producer.
Fully compatible with diesel engines
Excellent cold weather properties – same CFPP as red diesel
Can be stored in existing red diesel tanks without any alterations
Mixes perfectly with red diesel & has no blending limits or shelf life
Does not promote bacteria growth
Has been approved for use in Volvo’s Euro 5 & Euro 6 engines
Meets EN 15940 standard for paraffinic diesel from synthesis or hydro-treatment
Compatible with all Diesel Engines
Renewable Diesel is not a biodiesel. Known as an HVO or Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil, it is made from the same raw materials as biodiesel, but has a chemical structure comparable with conventional red diesel.
Ultra Low Carbon – 90% CO2 Reduction
Using ECO+ Renewable Diesel in place of red diesel reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90%*. Like any fuels, burning biodiesel releases CO2 into the atmosphere, however with biofuel made from waste products, the emissions are absorbed by the next cooking oil seed crop. This massive CO2 saving takes into account the whole life cycle of the fuel from the collection process, to refining and final delivery, so CO2 absorbed by the seed crop cancels out the emissions released through using the fuel. This is not the case with fossil fuels, as it would take millions of years to the CO2 to be absorbed again.
ISCC EU Certified
Every delivery comes with its own ISCC EU certificate proving it is refined from 100% renewable inedible waste and residue feedstock. ECO+ Renewable Diesel does not contribute to deforestation or compete with food production.
High Performing
ECO+ Renewable Diesel’s high cetane range of 75 – 95 ensures an efficient and clean combustion.
Less Polluting
ECO+ Renewable Diesel has lower harmful emissions than red diesel and can make a valuable contribution to improving local air quality. Compared with red diesel, using ECO+ Renewable Diesel reduces:**
Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) by 12%
Carbon Monoxide (CO) by 29%
Hydrocarbons (HC) by 30%
Soot & Particulate Matter (PM) by 33%
Competitively Priced
Despite ECO+ Renewable Diesel costing more to produce than conventional diesel, this unique biofuel qualifies for UK Government subsidies for fuel used in combustion engines, enabling OnBio to offer it to our clients at prices which compete with conventional diesel prices.
* Data is taken from the UK Government’s Organisation Greenhouse Gas reporting formulae.
** These average emission reduction figures are derived from studies on Neste Renewable Diesel and HVO fuels when 100% Neste Renewable Diesel has been used as the fuel. Findings are published in over 40 scientific publications.
Renewable Diesel is now available in the UK though OnBio Ltd.
